Focus groups encourage patients and service users to share views, ideas, and engage in constructive debate with the services they use. Here at the Audiology department, we are keen to hear your thoughts and ideas which, in turn, can help us gain a different perspective and help ideas surface to improve and develop the service you use.

We discuss a different theme/topic for each group; therefore, you may not be best suited for all groups. We may contact you for other focus groups more relevant to you, for example groups based on certain clinics/appointment types you have been part of.

The group is generally made up of 3 staff members and around 6 patients. Any patients considered will be contacted prior to the date to see if they can attend and they will need to fill out a questionnaire about their experience at the end.

Focus groups will mostly be held via an online video conferencing platform, therefore computer / smart device skills are desirable. However, we may still run some occasional face to face groups so please still contact us if you’re interested. Just make a note on your form if you’re happy to meet online of prefer face to face.

We aim to feedback the minutes from the patient focus group to the rest of the staff in the Audiology department in a timely manner so changes and improvements can be made. These minutes are anonymised to respect your privacy.
