Private medical insurance
Should you wish to receive your private treatment at Torbay Hospital, please discuss this with your private healthcare insurer. It is important to clarify any financial limits of your policy, as you will be responsible for any balances not covered by your insurance. An invoice detailing outstanding charges will be issued by the Trust for these amounts.
Prior to your treatment or procedure, you must provide the Private Patient Officer with your insurance company details and membership or policy number to facilitate pre-authorisation of your treatment.
Please note: if you are unable to provide complete insurance details before your treatment, you will be considered as self-funding.
Liability for payment
Regardless of whether you are covered by medical insurance or self-funding, you remain liable for the full cost of your treatment.
